What's New

Last updated: 2026-06-21

Plain-language updates to Interlude — what changed and what it means for you. Newest first.

2026-06-21

✨ New

  • Your own account. Sign up, log in, and reset your password — your projects now live somewhere that's yours.
  • A home for all your work. The new dashboard gathers every project as a tile, with search to find one fast and a spot to start a new project right where you are. A sidebar keeps it all one click away.
  • Project pages. Open any project to its own page, rename it right in the title, and copy its share link without hunting for it.
  • A settings page. See and edit your personal info, check your plan and how much storage you're using, and manage login and security — all in one place.

💪 Better

  • Roomier storage. Free accounts now hold up to 100 GB and paid accounts up to 500 GB. Anonymous shares allow up to 5 GB per send and stay live for 7 days.
  • Instant project delete. Removing a project from the dashboard makes its tile disappear right away instead of waiting on the server.

🐛 Fixed

  • Sharper names and titles. File names and project titles no longer get their descenders clipped — including on the anonymous share page.
  • No more sideways scroll on mobile. The top bar stays put on small screens.
  • Reliable thumbnails. A still-processing video shows a clean placeholder instead of a broken image.
  • Tidier project view. Centered spinners, a pinned sidebar, a flush scrollbar, and a steadier layout when you open and close a file.

✨ New

  • An About page. A quick introduction to what Interlude is and why it exists, linked from the footer.
  • Stay in the loop. Leave your email on the About page to hear about new updates.

✨ New

  • Work with file versions. Upload a new cut and switch between versions right in the player — older versions are clearly marked, comments remember which version they were left on, and clicking a comment jumps you to the version it's about.
  • Download the original. Video downloads now hand you the exact file you uploaded, not a re-compressed copy.
  • One caption for everything. A "same caption for all files" toggle fills every file with the same caption in one go.
  • Sort your files. Order the file list however you like — it defaults to A–Z, and the first file opens automatically when you arrive.
  • Unread-comment markers. A dot on the file list shows which files have comments you haven't seen yet.

💪 Better

  • Snappier everywhere. Saving a caption, flagging or completing a task, and ticking items on the task board now register instantly instead of waiting on the server.

🐛 Fixed

  • Steadier review layout. Closing a file no longer makes the list jump or shrink, and the reviewer's columns line up cleanly with the file list.
  • Mobile comments stay put. The comment box no longer slides off-screen when you expand a discussion.

2026-06-15

💪 Better

  • More mobile polish. A friendlier date picker and discussion sheet, tidier file headers and comment box, a cleaner video row, and no more date-pill overflow on small screens.

2026-06-12

💪 Better

  • A fresh look on the home screen, with a soft new gradient.

2026-06-10

✨ New

  • Real-time collaboration. Reviews are live now: see who else is viewing, watch comments and approvals appear the instant they're made, and get new files and versions pushed to you without refreshing.
  • Drag and drop to upload. Drop files straight onto the page instead of hunting for the file picker.
  • Download videos. Grab a copy of any video in a review, saved with its proper file name.
  • Retry a failed upload. If an upload hiccups, one click tries again — no starting over.
  • A "What's New" page. This changelog now lives at /updates, linked from the footer.
  • Privacy, Cookie, and Terms pages are now published.
  • Spam protection. Sensible limits on how many files a single source can upload in a short window, so the platform stays fast and fair for everyone.

💪 Better

  • A cleaner, calmer look. Refreshed borders, dividers, and spacing throughout, with clearer markers on the video timeline.
  • Much better on mobile. Smoother bottom sheets, no more accidental zoom when typing, and layout fixes for small screens.
  • Videos just work. Large uploads are far more reliable, and a video shows as ready the moment you open it to watch.
  • Snappier reviews. Comments and approvals you make show up immediately.

🐛 Fixed

  • Review-link emails land in the inbox. They're cleaned up so they look trustworthy, not like spam.
  • A deleted file no longer breaks a comment. A comment pointing at a removed file now simply shows "(removed)".

🔒 Safety

  • Automated dependency scanning. Security updates to the libraries we rely on are now caught and applied automatically.

2026-06-09

✨ New

  • Add and remove files before you send. Building a review? Drop files in, take them back out, and rename them — all before anyone sees it.
  • Reply to specific comments. The discussion now shows who you're replying to, jumps you to the original, and tags every comment with the file version it's about.
  • Upload a new version. Got an updated cut? Upload it right in place and keep the conversation attached.
  • A copyable share link appears as soon as you send, so handing off a review takes one click.
  • Mark comments done. Tick off feedback as you address it, and see what's resolved at a glance.
  • Sort your task board by file or by date.
  • A proper video player with a scrubber, volume, and fullscreen.

💪 Better

  • Uploads keep going even if one file hiccups — one bad file no longer sinks the whole batch.
  • Big uploads now show a time-remaining estimate so you know how long you've got.
  • Cleaner, tidier layouts on the compose and dashboard screens.
  • Long file names no longer break the layout.

🐛 Fixed

  • File previews now always match the file you picked.
  • Videos resolve and play correctly, with proper letterboxing.
  • The file viewer stays put when share links are generated.

🔒 Safety

  • A round of security hardening behind the scenes to keep each review private to the people it's meant for.

2026-06-08

✨ New

  • The full app takes shape. The four main screens — upload, compose, send, and review — are now connected and clickable end to end.
  • Approve with a tap, un-approve just as easily. Approval toggles cleanly on and off.

💪 Better

  • Review links now open straight to a private, personalized view for whoever you shared them with.

2026-06-07

✨ New

  • The foundation. The core of the platform — accounts, files, versions, reviews, comments, and tasks — is built and working under the hood. (Not much to see yet, but everything above is built on this.)

🔒 Safety

  • Privacy was the very first thing built and tested: one person's review can never leak into another's.
